We release no wine before it's time!
We usually release our wines in early Novemberof each year with the exception of wines that require more time in barrels. It's always wine maker Rod Snapp's call.

SINGLE BARRELWINES
Javelina Leap Vineyard & Winery produces about 1200 cases of wine a year. The ultimate in quality control. All our wines are created with the knowledge, skill and passion of winemaker Rod Snapp. When we label something Single Barrel it means the wine is being bottled from one particular oak barrel . During routine barrel tasting winemaker Rod Snapp felt the wine in this barrel is so exceptional that he did not want to blend it with any other barrels of wine and it does not happen automatically every year. A single wine barrel makes only 24 cases of wine. These wines will not usually be available for tasting.
WINE MAKING PICS FROM 2007

The Traveling Wineberries
In fall of 2008 we will harvest our Estate fruit for the first time. Until then, we must search out and purchase the highest quality berries possible. The whole fruit is placed in 19 one ton insulated vats and immediately shipped in a refrigerated truck to the Javelina Leap Winery facility in Yavapai County Arizona. All wines from Javelina Leap are made by winemaker Rod Snapp, one ton at a time, by hand. Family, friends and apprentices often assist under Rod's supervision.
( Above) Brad Bebee and Peter Litchfield assist in the pressing of the grapes. (Below) Legacy members Glen & Kathy Buttrey assist winemaker Rod Snapp while he records his measurements and readings of each vat. Glen is also our tasting room manager.
It's always great to have mechanic Harry Sweet in the neighborhood in case a piece of equipment goes down. Thanks Harry !
( Below ) During fermentation or "Punch Down" the work goes on around the clock every few hours for approximately 2 weeks

( Below ) You may think that winemaker Rod Snapp is making this wine for you ! But he's really making it for himself !
Vineyard Installations
We have also been installing many vineyards in Yavapai County for people who have land. In most cases we have arranged to purchase those grapes when the vines begin producing. Don't hesitate to e-mail Rod if you are interested in planting a vineyard in Yavapai County Arizona.
Javelina Leap Vines
In May of 2006, 2250 vines were planted. The photo below shows the vines exploding with growth at 10 weeks old. The vines are two clones FPMS ( Foundation Plant Material Services ) certified by the viticulture department at U.C. Davis. All plants are zinfandel varietals, Deaver and Dupratt on root stalks 1103P and 110R.
